We still work on our Black Soldier Fly breeding Centre in Siem Reap and we make nice progress. In few weeks we will start using our 280m2 breeding net houses. We use mostly local and natural materials and local contractors which fits into our concept of sustainability and keeping costs low. Meanwhile we attach some pictures of the work in progress.
Siem Reap city, Kingdom of Cambodia.
Today we mark the beginning of the works on our pilot BSF breeding farm. We expect the work to take about 2 weeks and at the end of the development work we will start our breeding operations and pilot bio-conversion project.
On about 0.4 hectares of land we will build a breeding center for the Black Soldier Fly that within a year will produce sufficient fly eggs to bio convert few tons of organic waste daily. Aside our goal to produce high quality and sustainable protein for animal feed, we hope to raise awareness and provide financial justification for waste separation in Siem Reap community.
This venture is supported by the local waste collection company of Siem Reap, among other local partners.
